World Press Photo Exhibition in Valletta
The World Press Photo Exhibition comes to Malta for the first time, with approximately 170 award-winning photographs from across the globe.
The photographs, to be displayed at St James Cavalier in Valletta, capture the most powerful, moving and at times disturbing images of the year.
Recognised as the definitive competition for photographic reporting, the World Press Photo Exhibition brings together images from all over the world. The subjects explored range from the shocking to the sublime, the beautiful to the barely believable, and include war torn Iraq, street dancers in Paris, fans and footballers at the World Cup in Germany, the American Ms
Senior Sweetheart Pageant, and the vicious hunting grounds of the Leopard seal.
Every year following the World Press Photo Contest, the winning images go on show. The exhibition is officially opened in Amsterdam as part of the prize-giving ceremony in April, and until March the next year can be seen at venues around the globe. The exhibition will be open to the public at St James Cavalier in Valletta between September 14 and October 7.
