Three of Italy's musical giants at the Valletta Waterfront
Three giants within the Italian music scene - Claudio Baglioni, Riccardo Cocciante and Gianni Morandi - joined forces in a concert aimed to raise awareness of the issue of illegal migration, integration and solidarity between cultures.

The three musicians performed during the CiaO'Scià concert on August 25 at the Valletta Waterfront that was packed with surprises, thrilling duets and unprecedented performances.

The concert was opened by Baglioni - the man behind the initiative - singing Io sono qui, and was presented by Italian TV personality Fabrizio Frizzi and Maltese presenter Louise Tedesco.

Baglioni sang anthems like Questo piccolo grande amore, Mille giorni di te e di me and Almeno tu nell'universo. Cocciante lured the audience with Se stiamo insieme and Margherita, while Morandi, delighted them with songs like Bella signora and a string of other tracks that have withstood the test of time.

Local singers Ira Losco, Ivan Filletti and Ivan Grech of Winter Moods also shared the stage with the Italian giants.

At a press conference before to the concert Malta's Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech, Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg and Italian Justice Minister Clemente Mastella were spontaneously made to sign a piece of paper on which Baglioni scribbled that it would not be the last initiative of the sort in Malta. The ministers and the three singers highlighted the issues of solidarity and integration, as well as the need for periphery countries not to be left alone to face the problem of illegal immigration.
