Laszlo Solyom leaves Malta this morning after a two-day state visit where he held talks with Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi at Auberge de Castille.
Accompanied by Valletta mayor Paul Borg Olivier and Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech, the President paid tribute to the fallen in the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, which is commemorated at the Lower Barrakka gardens. A wreath was laid in front of a plaque marking the 50th Anniversary of the revolution unveiled in October 2006.
