New traffic scheme in force
The new Controlled Vehicular Access scheme in Valletta came into force today. The scheme is intended to reduce traffic entering Valletta and create more pedestrian areas. Motorists who spend over 30 minutes in Valletta will incur a charge of up to a maximum of Lm2.80 in one day. The scheme will be in force on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., and on Saturdays between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., but free of charge the rest of the time, on Sundays and public holidays. Enquiries about the CVA can be made by calling 2206 4000 on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Saturdays between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
