On the 25th of August 2010, a group of children participating in the St. Elmo skola sajf, visited the Valletta Local Council. The Mayor of Valletta, Dr. Alexiei Dingli and Councillor Mario Camenzuli welcomed the children and had an informal discussion with the young residents of our capital city.
The children prepared a set of questions prior to the discussion and were asking these questions directly to the mayor. Cleanliness of the city and adequate leisure facilities were the prime concern of children. During the meeting the mayor explained to the children that the council is currently working on the embellishment of the existing playground at Mattia Preti square and has submitted another two applications for two separate playgrounds in Valletta, one at St. Elmo place and another one adjacent to the Great Siege Memorial. Dr. Dingli emphasised that the well-being of children and young people is a top priority for the Valletta Local Council.
Councillor Mario Camenzuli also participated in the dialogue and together with Dr. Dingli joined the children in a short reception where more informal issues were debated.
