This is the 5th edition of Notte Bianca. Notte Bianca is an all-night event held in Malta’s capital city, Valletta. Lejl Imdawwal includes various events of different genre such as music, theatre, dance, exhibitions, street performances and cultural tours. Museums and historical buildings will be open all night. In one night you can go from Caravaggio, to an exhibition by a young aspiring artist, from Chopin to heavy metal, from folk dancing to contemporary, from chips to specialized cuisine. The original Auberge was built by the renowned Maltese architect Girolamo Cassar in 1574. It was extensively re-modelled and virtually rebuilt in 1741, the present plan of the imposing structure attributed to Andrea Belli.

Built in the late 18th century, the Palazzo became Napoleon's headquarters during his short visit in Malta.  It is named after Chevalier Paolo Parisio Muscati, a Neapolitan Maltese nobleman who played an influential role during the latter years of the Order of St. John’s rule in Malta.

Built between 1776 and 1796, the National Library was inaugurated by the British Civil Commissioner in 1812.  In 1976, the Library was officially designated as the National Library of Malta and became solely a research and reference Library.

The Palace of the Grandmasters, currently known as the Presidential Palace, was built in the 16th century to the design of the Maltese architect Girolamo Cassar. This Palace continues to serve as a vibrant centre of political and administrative activity since it houses the Office of the President, the House of Representatives and several important Government offices.

The Square, located right in front of the National Library of Malta is the home of the statue of Queen Victoria.  The statue was sculpted by Giuseppe Valente and erected in 1891 to commemorate her 50th .  It continues to preside over the square still commonly known as Pjazza Regina.

The museum mainly represents Malta’s important military role in the post-1800 period under British colonial rule, especially during World War II, when the island became one of the most bombed countries in Europe.
