Unique Caravaggio exhibition planned
Twelve paintings by Caravaggio will soon be brought to Malta, from various locations abroad, to be put on show for a unique exhibition to be held at the Archaeology Museum in Valletta.
The exhibition, Caravaggio: L'Immagine del Divino - a unique experience, will run between the end of September and the end of November. It marks the highlight of the activities organised by Heritage Malta to mark the 400th anniversary of the arrival of Michelangelo da Caravaggio to Malta between 1607 and 1608.
Heritage Malta, with the assistance of the Italian company Romartificio and the Maltese company Renaissance Productions, has been working on the exhibition for many months. It is being sponsored by the National Lotteries Good Causes Fund, Air Malta, HSBC, the Malta Tourism Authority, the Malta Financial Services Authority and the Malta Stock Exchange.
