Weddings at Hastings Gardens

Busy bee Caterers have been entrusted with the management of functions held at the magnificent Hastings Gardens set on the bastions of Valletta with views of Manoel island and Msida creek. The garden also houses a monument built by the Hastings family dedicated to Francis Marquis of Hastings who was a governor of Malta. Lord Hastings was Viceroy of India until his appointment to Malta n 1824. In 1827, he died on a ship en route to Naples and his body was returned for burial in this garden.

Weddings at The Saluting Battery

Another artistic location for weddings is the Saluting Battery which is situated just beneath the Upper Barrakka Gardens.  This site is managed by the Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna.

Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna is a voluntary non-governmental organisation active in the fields of heritage preservation and management. It is entrusted with the conservation of several historic buildings and sites around Malta, all of which are open to the general public.

Civil marriages

Civil marriages have been part of the Maltese Legislature since 1975, but until recently these weddings could be officiated only by a Marriage Registrar. After a public debate this law was amended, giving the Mayor the faculty to preside over a marriage if the couple chose to wed in a Local Council Office
